Zone’s sports courses offer you opportunities to learn new skills under the guidance of skilled instructors.

All of the spring courses are suitable for beginners as well as for those with more advanced skills, as our instructors are able to customize the level of difficulty of different exercises to match the skill level of each participant.

The courses are open to all students and staff members of the Universities of Applied Sciences of the Capital Area, while a student union membership entitles you to a -25% discount on the entry fee of each course.

Pilates, 13-times | At Metropolia Myllypuro, on Tuesdays at 16-17, from 28.1. onwards | Instuctor Marjo Lampi (REGISTRATION HAS ENDED)

The aim of the course is to improve posture & body control and to influence body muscle balance by strengthening the weak muscles and by lengthening the tense muscles. Pilates focuses on concentration, precision, control and controlled breathing. Course instructions in Finnish only.

Volleyball for beginners, 6-times | At Metropolian Myyrmäki, on Tuesdays at 18:45-20:00, 25.2. onwards | Instructor Jyrki Nurminen, PuMa Volley (REGISTRATION HAS ENDED)

During the course you will learn the basic techniques of volleyball, such as passing, reception and attacking & blocking. After the course, you have what it takes to continue playing the sport, for example at Zone’s Ball Sports Sessions!

Floorball for beginners, 6-times | At Metropolian Myyrmäki, on Wednesdays at 19:15-20:15, from 26.2. onwards | Instructor Heidi Vanhanen, GrIFK Salibandy (REGISTRATION HAS ENDED)

At the course you will learn the basic techniques of floorball and also play a lot of different kinds of games, on smaller and bigger courts. Floorball is a terrific team sport which is easy to learn, and easy to like!

Badminton for beginners, 2-times | At Metropolian Myyrmäki, on Tuesdays at 18-20, from 4.2. onwards | Instructor Eemi Oksanen, LaSuPa (REGISTRATION HAS ENDED)

During the course, you will learn the basics of badminton, from different stroking and serving techniques to sport-specific movements. At the end of each session, there will also be time for playing.

Badminton intermediate course, 2-times | At Metropolian Myyrmäki, on Tuesdays at 18-20, from 7.4. onwards | Instructor Eemi Oksanen, LaSuPa

At the course, you will develop your skills in game-like exercises that combine different stroking techniques with sport-specific movements. At the end of each session, there is also time for playing.
